We are on the scene and reporting to you live from The Octaguy Mansion for UFC on Fox 2. I'll be slaving over a hot laptop all night for the second of four UFC events on Fox. In honor of the card taking place in Chicago, we've ordered in catering from the hot dog cart by the courthouse. Let's begin.

ESPN, the worldwide leader in sports coverage, recently debuted an episode of Outside the Lines which addressed the issue of fighter pay in The UFC. The episode featured two interviews- one with UFC co-founder Lorenzo Fertitta and the other with former fighter Ken Shamrock.

Following his lopsided loss to Alistair Overeem at UFC 141, Lesnar did what he does best- shock the world. Not in his usual big talking, brash, professional wrestler kind of shock, but a new, humble, real kind of shock.

Face it, in a sport as individualized as MMA, anything that can set you above the pack is a good thing. Nicknames are no exception. Some fighters almost transform themselves in to these monikers and fans simply know them as such. Fighters like Rampage Jackson, Shogun Rua, or Cowboy Cerrone embrace these names and brand themselves so, win or lose, you remember who they are.

Hello friends. To celebrate what an amazing year 2011 was for the world of MMA, I have compiled a brief set of awards to acknowledge those of you who make this all possible. A special thanks is in order to everyone involved and all of us fans are really looking forward to what 2012 has to offer:

With the recent announcement that UFC Welterweight champ Georges St. Pierre is heading to the bench with a torn ACL, something has become blatantly apparent; we're further and further away than ever from seeing the superfight between GSP and Anderson Silva.

The UFC announced this week that they will be adding a flyweight division to their ever expanding line ups. This announcement comes on the tale end of this past ultra-successful Ultimate Fighter season 14, which pinned Bantamweights (135) and Featherweights (145) against each other, respectively.

Everything is changing. The UFC is on the brink of beginning a multi-year broadcasting deal on network television, PPV events are happening two or three times a month, the sport has tapped in to international markets including Brazil, Germany, Pittsburgh, and Abu Dhabi, and in just eleven cards from now, we will have reached UFC 150.

We're on the scene and reporting live from The Octaguy Mansion for The UFC's historic UFC on FOX 1. The hour long broadcast is serving as an appetizer of sorts for the sports recent multi-year deal with the broadcasting conglomerate. You better bet that on such a monumental night, I'm keeping a running diary of the action to look back on and show my grandchildren as they ask, “what's a television?”

When I was a kid, I wanted nothing more than to be a boxer. Actually, full disclosure: I wanted to be Rocky.
When my sister was touring colleges “near” Philadelphia (read Baltimore) , I not only made the outlandish demand to attend these field trips but also made my mom take us two hours out of our way to Philly so I could reenact the famous scene where Rocky runs the steps of The Philadelphia Museum of Art. Granted, my impression probably looked more like Pre-Training Montage Rocky, but not in my mind. In my mind I was finally all set to fight for the belt. I was 10 at the time.
